Appraisers Brokers Licensed Dealers
The Hartman Brothers
Elmira Arms Company, New York State’s oldest name in quality firearms
dealers is still active in the business, and has moved to the Gillett,
Pennsylvania area. We are just six miles south from our former headquarters
location in Elmira, NY, one mile over the state line in the hamlet of Fassett.
Founded in 1888, the founder and primary stockholder was John Willis Morrow. Mr.
Morrow was best known for his industrial endeavors to include the Morrow bicycle
brake he invented and had built in Elmira, and the Willys Overland Jeep, as a
business associate of John Willys North.
PEACO (Pennsylvania’s Elmira Arms Company) specializes in vintage antique and
contemporary arms of quality in the collector/investor classification, although
more modern firearms are also offered from our store location. Most of the
inventory is pre-owned, and covers a cross-section of firearms industry
products.
The store, on Route 14 in Fassett (Gillett, PA mailing address), is open to the
public three days a week, although appointments can and will be made for serious
customers at any reasonable time. We are open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00
until 6:00 PM, and Saturdays from 10:00AM until 5:00 PM. During June, July and
August we are open Saturdays from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM.
Those wishing to visit us regarding the purchase, trade or selling of quality
firearms should call ahead to avoid missing us on weekends in the event a number
of those pieces are at Trade Shows where many of them are dealt and procured.
The store is a two hour drive from Rochester or Syracuse, NY, and
Scranton-Wilkes Barre, PA. It is a three hour drive from Buffalo and Albany, NY,
and Harrisburg, PA, and four to five hours from New York City, Cleveland,
Pittsburg and Philadelphia.
We commenced moving to the Gillett, Pennsylvania area in June-July 2007, a
lengthy and complicated process which we barely finished nearly a year later. We
have held a Pennsylvania FFL and State License under the PEACO name for more
than 20 years in addition to our New York licenses. We elected to avail
ourselves of the more “user friendly” Pennsylvania location to avoid the
self-serving activities of politicians, government officials and law enforcement
personnel who favor criminals more than the victims, making it all but
impossible for a successful business of our kind to operate in New York State.
PEACO (Pennsylvania’s Elmira Arms Company) accepts MasterCard, Visa, Discover
and American Express for the conduct of sales transactions. A handling and
shipping charge is in addition to the item cost for long guns purchased
requiring shipping. In addition, special packaging requirements to protect your
purchase increase the base cost of the item by $35.00, except for special
insurance and delivery requests, or shipping to outside of the lower forty-eight
States. Hand gun purchases are shipped through the U.S. Postal Service at $20.00
in the lower forty-eight unless special insurance or delivery is requested.
A VALID FFL OR C&R LICENSE IS REQUIRED TO SHIP FIREARMS
